Three days of sailing and three exquisite activities in Galicia.
"Galician Experiences" is a series of trips where we combine our personal development programme with some selected experiences in the places that we visit (guided tours, gastronomic experiences, activities in nature, etc). Everything is included in the price of the trip.
On this trip, we'll have 3 days of interrupted sailing. During this time you'll have the chance of participating in all the activities on board with the guidance of our crew, which will help you work on some basic life-skills. Then upon arrival to Vigo, we'll have 1.5 days of activities in the city and around.
The exact activities are still to be confirmed, but after arriving in Vigo (at 10:00) we are looking into a Hiking tour or a similar outdoors activity in the region, plus a tapas city tour around the city of Vigo.
The day after, we'll organise a short sailing cruise around the Ria de Vigo combined with a tasting of local cuisine by a specialised agency.
All these activities are included in the price of the trip.
Gijón is a large coastal city known for its maritime heritage and old fishermen’s quarter. The 18th-century Revillagigedo Palace houses an international arts center, and is next to a concert hall in the Collegiate Church of San Juan Bautista. Nearby is the 16th-century Clock Tower, with a museum about the city.
Vigo is a busy commercial port. From atop Mount Castro you can see the estuary, the coastline and the city, a great spot from which to take photos. Visit the Park of Castrelos, Vigo's largest urban park covering over 5 acres. The park houses the Quiñones de León Palace, now the municipal museum, surrounded by beautiful English- and French-style gardens. A huge variety of trees and plants border the River Lagares, and the park features an open-air auditorium, making use of the terrain's natural slope, where concerts and festivals are held in the summer.
Be sure to visit Santiago de Compostela, an hour from the port. View Obradoiro Square and explore the 15th-century Hotel of the Reyes Catolicos, built during the reign of the Catholic Kings with a blend of Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque styles. Just across the square is the impressive cathedral, where at the Jubilee Door pardons are dispensed in Jubilee Year.
