Journey to Greenland. Setting sail from Isafjordur towards Greenland and crossing the Greenland Sea, you first stop at the Nature Reserve in Hornstrandir. From this point ice conditions will be assessed and when clear, you will sail directly to the southeast coast of Greenland reaching Scoresbysund (Kangertittivag). The largest fjord in the world is here. You will spend most of your time on land at Ittoqqortoomilt which is the only settlement in Greenland.

Isafjordur, Iceland
Ísafjörður is a town in the Westfjords region of northwest Iceland. It's known for its dramatic landscapes. The old town has wooden houses with corrugated tin roofs built by fishing merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Westfjords Heritage Museum has exhibits on the town’s maritime history, including a collection of old fishing boats. The old hospital, now a cultural center, contains archives and photography.

Scoresbysund, Greenland
Scoresby Sund is the largest fjord system in the world. The winding extension of the Greenland Sea stretches 110 km or 68 miles into the eastern coast of Greenland. The tree-like structure of the Sund then branches into a massive system of fjords, Along this route, majestic peaks will greet you, rising thousands of meters from the sea. Taking in the horizon you will see endless rows of icebergs, carved into incredible geometric shapes by the wind and water. You will be surrounded by massive glaciers in all directions.Scoresby Sund is an adventure of enormous proportions, everywhere your eyes take you. English explorer William Scoresby felt first sailed into the Sund to chart its magnificent structure in 1822. A region this rich in natural beauty is not without abundant and equally fascinating wildlife. Sailing past rolling hills, you can spot herds of musk oxen grazing. Other animals include the Arctic fox, the Arctic hare and lemming.

Hornstrandir, Iceland
This territory of the Arctic fox has been uninhabited since the 1950s. As isolated as it was then, it attracts the casual half-day visitors and serious hikers alike. Its main attractions are the bird cliffs surrounding the bay of Hornvík, which are a magnet of gigantic proportions. On the eastern side of the bay the cliff reaches a height of more than 500 metres, and the birds are swarming. There is no infrastructure and the tourists few in relation to the sheer size of the area, the sense of remoteness is strong. You can hike days on end without seeing a single person. The nature is pure and the calmness unmatched. The area is a haven for the Arctic fox, the chances of spotting one are high.

Greenland (southeast coast)
Greenland is a massive island and autonomous Danish territory between the North Atlantic and Arctic oceans. Much of its land surface is covered in ice. Most of its small population lives along the ice-free, fjord-lined coast, particularly in the southwest. Its northerly position, largely above the Arctic Circle, results in natural phenomena such as summer’s midnight sun and winter’s Northern Lights.
