About the Tocorimé
Tocorimé is THE Brazilian Wooden Tall Ship, a two-masted, 120 foot, gaff-rigged topsail schooner, with 100 foot masts and over 5,000 square feet of sails. She was built by hand in Santarém, in the Brazilian Amazon, by her four European owners supervising a work crew in the jungle. Her full name, “Tocorimé Pamatojari”, means “Adventurous Spirit”, in the native tongue of the Amazonian Kulina tribe.
Climb on board - a voyage onboard this tall ship is a true tour into the spirit of adventure. The Tocorimé's professional crew is prepared to do all necessary to make your voyage the most relaxing & enjoyable ever. All guests are invited to participate in the sailing of the ship, raising sails, practicing coastal and blue water navigation, taking a turn at the helm.
Tocorimé carries you to the most incredible, exotic landscapes on the Brazilian coast, where you'll see mountains dip into the sea, and enjoy swimming & snorkeling at isolated beaches. You'll hike in rainforests, explore waterfalls, see fantastic islands with breathtaking jungle foliage.
Close Your Eyes! Imagine the warmth, you sense aromas of the sea, tropical wood, palm trees, pure and simple fresh air brushing coolness against your cheeks. Hear the lap of sea-water, gentle creaking of wood & rigging, and quiet conversations of collegues. Now Open your eyes; you see the spectrums of blue & green in a caleidascope of refractions and reflections from the sky, sea and land.
Try an ice cold Caipirinha, Brazil's famous cocktail. This is the life of Freedom - of Adventure - Life on the Tocorimé. Away from the daily stress, wake up anchored off an exotic beach. Your cheerful cook prepares breakfast, the crew is preparing for the day tour on shore and ...... as always your wish is our command!
